So, I've been doing a lot of reading.
Some of what I've come across are people arguing Adobe AIR vs. Microsoft Silverlight- the two are apples to carrots.
What strikes me is this huge gap between Graphic Designers and Application Coders- let's say designers and developers for short. Adobe is trying to bridge that gap with their Flex framework and associated Flex Builder tooling which includes an Eclipse plugin- nice.
Here's something I think we're all missing while we argue about who has the best RIA platform/technology: The user interface has become decoupled from the application. MXML, XAML, XUL, etc. Now wouldn't it be nice if we could combine the merits of Model Driven Development with this new architectural situation we find ourselves in?
I would venture that things will get even more interesting in the RIA "wars" once Microsoft releases Model Driven Development capabilities into their next release of Visual Studio (10).
Sorry, gotta run- more details on all of this later.
